Click with Technology, the UK’s leading supplier of travel websites, is announcing surprising results from its latest Facebook poll.
CWT asked 1000 Facebook users: Will you take fewer holidays in the future because you’re concerned about the environmental impact? In response, only 129 people answered ‘Yes’ while a resounding 871 people said ‘No’.
Steve Endacott CEO of On Holiday Group said: "Although the UK population are obviously concerned about Global warming, they clearly do not feel that sacrificing their annual holiday is the way to deal with the issue, which is good news for the travel trade.
The survey was further divided by age and location. One of the most surprising results was that only 11% of 25-34-year-olds said they would take fewer holidays, compared with 21% of 35-49-year-olds.
Peter Hilton MD of Click with Technology said: 'Surprisingly the under 25s care least about the impact their travelling has on the environment when they are the ones who are likely to be affected most by it'
According to the poll, the most environmentally concerned city is Glasgow, (18% answering yes), and the least concerned city is Sheffield, (9% answering yes).
